In this workshop, Hana will re-introduce fairy tales to children in hands-on sessions that result in a story created by them through a shared process. Children will discover modern-day fairy tales, culled from current popular culture in film and books, and create imaginative verbal and physical play that will lead into structuring, performing, and starring in…their very own brand-new fairy tale! Biography Hana Roth Seavey, a retired teacher, Mime (Fulbright Scholar, Paris, Ecole d’Etienne de Croux) and circus performer (graduate, Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Clown College) has taught, performed and written for children throughout her career. In conjunction with her family musical, JACK! THE UNBEATABLE BOY, Seavey developed the Fairy Tale Workshops to explore the genre and involve children directly in the tales by helping them develop and create a fairy tale that they can own. Seavey is always grateful to be able to connect children to the power and influence of fairy tales, having an unshaken belief in their ongoing ability to strengthen, sustain, and entertain.
