Join Richard at his Saphouse Studio as he leads students on an exploration of form and structure using the woods around his studio as subject matter. The workshop will concentrate on observation and marking. Students be forewarned: it’s about language, not pretty drawings. No prior drawing experience is necessary. $90 Biography Richard Kathmann studied at the University of Chicago and holds a B.F.A. from the Art Institute of Chicago and an M.F.A. from Pratt Institute. He has taught drawing at SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Oneonta. Recent awards include Second Place Award in the 2007 Roberson Regional Exhibition, (juror, Philip Pearlstein) and the Dorothy Bostwick Campbell Award in the 70th National Juried Exhibition, Cooperstown Art Association along with two full fellowships at the Constance Saltonstall Arts Colony. Recent exhibitions include “Auction Exhibition,” Black Mountain College, “Prints Plus,” national exhibition of printmakers, SUNY Cobleskill and “Works on Paper,” The Ink Shop, Ithaca, NY.
