David Krchelich and Annie Hayes

Relief sculpture paintings and hooked rugs

Exhibit runs through July 3

Annie Hayes creates one-of-a-kind primitive rugs with themes ranging from animals and country scenes to floral and geometric patterns. Her work is both decorative and utilitarian, suitable for use on the floor, wall, or in upholstered projects. Her designs have been featured in the New York Times, Early Homes, Old-House Interiors, Early American Life’s “Directory of the Best Traditional Craftsmen,” and Kaatskill Life. Hayes lives in Delhi and teaches a Rug Hooking workshop at the West Kortright Centre in June.

David Krchelich’s new work, “Three Seasons of Upstate New York,” is a series of relief sculptures depicting inanimate objects and their settings. These playful three-dimensional paintings are informed by Krchelich’s rich background in sculpture, theater, and interior design. After moving to Otsego County in 1988, he founded Interior Services, a custom cabinetry studio. He is active in local theater and community art, and designed and built The WKC’s current stages and the lighting system.
