Iraqi oud virtuoso and composer Rahim AlHaj perfectly blends traditional and contemporary music with breathtaking skill and emotion. Joined by santour maestro Sourena Sefati and Palestinian-American Arabic percussion master Issa Malluf, this 2-time Grammy nominee translates the haunting sorrow, joy, angst, passion, and determination that he has experienced and witnessed in his lifelong struggle against injustice — as an Iraqi, a political refugee, and now as an American citizen—into soulful and passionate music.

We’ll close out the season with a wonderful blend of entertainment and education. Flamenco Vivo Carlota Santana is one of America’s premier Spanish dance companies. Four artists—two dancers, a singer, and a guitarist—will present a program in colorful traditional costumes.
