Executive Director Search

The West Kortright Centre seeks a visionary and enthusiastic Executive Director with a successful background in leadership, fundraising, and the performing arts.   S/he must be a strategic thinker, a passionate self-starter, a conscientious relationship builder, and an inspiring leader who can bring diverse views into a cohesive vision for the organization’s future.

The West Kortright Centre is an established and respected community and performing arts space in northern Delaware County, New York, 150 miles northwest of New York City.  It is housed in an historically recognized 19th century church situated in a stunning valley in the western Catskills.  Our location feels very rural, but we are located within 15 miles of three colleges and two population centers of 15-30,000 people with an active community of talented local, weekend, and part-time residents.

The West Kortright Centre has been successfully presenting an exciting season of contemporary and traditional music for over 40 years.  We attract an audience from our local area but also from Binghamton and Albany over 50 miles away.   The average season’s audience for performances and other programs is 7000.

The Centre also provides space for weddings, memorials, family reunions and other gatherings of local community interest, and we believe it holds great potential for an expanded array of programming for family and college audiences.

Our current Executive Director is one of the founders of the Centre and is highly regarded in the community.  She has stewarded the Centre to our very successful present.  She is choosing to retire because her care and commitment to the Centre are such that she understands that it is time for new ideas, new faces and new directions to guide us into the future.  Our next Executive Director could be either an emerging talent or a well established cultural leader.

We are looking for a candidate who has:
