Barn Tour

Take a fascinating tour of the structures that characterize our region’s agricultural heritage and bucolic farmland.

Sunday, September 29, 11 AM–4 PM

Our 2019 Barn Tour will guide you through a spectacular landscape to explore 8 remarkable examples of agricultural architectural history in the Walton area.

Travel back in time to a barn built in the early 20th century on land settled by a Revolutionary War soldier and prisoner of war in 1808. Stop in for delicious ‘barn dance’ soup, cooked over a wood fire, at a barn raised just fifteen years ago that houses a unique collection of antique farming implements. Carry on through Walton’s bucolic hills to several ramp-style barns, including one of the last working dairy farms in the region. Each barn on the tour is a testament to the skill and creativity of its builder and careful tending by its present owner.

($20 in advance, $23 day-of, at the first barn)

Check -in at the first barn: 245 Budine Road, Walton

Everyone must start the tour between 11am and 1pm, and finish by 4pm. Rain or shine.
