Behind the Scenes: Technical Theater

Interested in working on a theatrical production behind the scenes?

Two-week workshop: Tuesdays–Fridays, July 23–August 2, 11 AM–3 PM

Ages 12–19; Pre-registration required

This workshop teaches set design and fabrication, as well as lighting, props, and sound.

Participants will be running both shows of the Shakespeare in the Valley production on August 2 & 3.

NOTE: Late-night dress rehearsals on July 31 & August 1.

• All scheduling conflicts must be cleared before registration.

• Students must be 12 by the start of the workshop

• Bring your own lunch

• Includes Shakespeare in the Valley T-shirt

Tom Meredith is excited to be back at the WKC Shakespeare in the Valley, where he worked on the tech crew for 4 years and served as assistant to the god himself, Bob Briggs. He is a designer from NYC, and an alum of Skidmore College.

Tony Aukstikalnis joined the Young People’s Theater Arts Workshops team in 2015. He has been designing and constructing sets for television, film, and theater for over 27 years and has designed and run lights for numerous live productions.
