Epic Outdoor Dance Party with Ryan Scott and his Band

R&B/Soul/Funk

Sponsored by FrieslandCampina

For each of the last 30 years, we’ve presented a great dance band outdoors on a Catskills summer night. This year, some of Brooklyn’s best players will deliver the groove.

One of NYC’s most sought after guitarists and session players, Ryan Scott melds a technical jazz background and pop song structures to create funky emotional dance tunes--oozing heart, soul and groove. Combine that with the undeniably joyful rhythm section of Jacob Silver on bass and Robin MacMillan on drums, and keyboard wizard Danny Fox, and the urge to move is irresistible!

Monterey Bay–born and bred guitarist, singer, and songwriter Ryan Scott has been described as a combination of Jeff Buckley, John Scofield, and Marvin Gaye. When he joins up with his childhood friends, the Grammy-nominated and Oscar-winning bassist Jacob Silver and drummer and producer Robin MacMillan (Aoife O’Donovan, Tao Rodriquez-Seeger, Bridget Kearny, Mike + Ruthy), the energy is palpable, the joy undeniable. Keyboard player Danny Fox (Bruce Springsteen, Cassandra Wilson & Michael Blake) rounds out the group, and their funky and emotional dance tunes, oozing heart, soul, and groove, will soothe your soul and get you moving.

“[Ryan Scott] is a virtuosic guitarist of the highest degree, a soulful, unique vocalist, and a sophisticated songwriter.”—Rio Sakairi, Director of Programming, The Jazz Gallery.
