Adventurous Chamber Music
“…new-music string quartet, ETHEL, is fitted out like a rock band, with amplified instruments and sound-processing boxes and pedals of all kinds. The essential quartet sound is always there if the members want it — and often, they do — but they can charge into aural worlds that the Juilliard and the Emerson cannot”—The New York Times.

One of America’s most adventurous string quartets, ETHEL sets the standard for contemporary genre-crossing concert music.
At the center of this performance is ETHEL’s own adaptation of Ennio Morricone’s moving score to the 1986 film, The Mission. Nominated for an Academy Award, and winning the Golden Globe, Morricone’s score deals with cross-cultural complexities fueled by the quest for redemption against the backdrop of the jungles of South America.
The rest of the performance will be announced from the stage, deviating from the previously announced "Grace" program to a custom set based on the thrill of performing live again, now titled "Hitting the Ground Running".
Please call (607) 278-5454 or contact info@westkc.org with any questions.
