Introducing our new Executive Director!

On behalf of the Board at the West Kortright Centre, I am so pleased to announce our new Executive Director, Amy Helfand. Amy comes to us from Brooklyn, with much experience in the arts and music world and we are confident that she shares the mission and the spirit of the WKC.

Our founding Director, Martha Van Burek, who has developed our well regarded and excellent programming and ensured the WKC’s institutional stability over the last 35 years, will be missed by all of us. Replacing her was a daunting task for the board but we eagerly anticipate that Amy will be able to expand on our solid base and bring the WKC into the next era. Martha and Amy are working together toward a smooth and seamless transition–Martha is booking the 2018 season while she introduces Amy to our funders and helps her negotiate the continued administration of the Centre.

Please join us at the Annual Meeting and Membership Gathering on March 18th to meet Amy, see some old friends, meet new ones, and enjoy some Mexican food and great live music. We hope to see many of you there, but if not, we look forward to seeing you when the 2018 season begins.

We are planning a gala event on Saturday, June 2nd to celebrate Martha and her great contributions to the WKC. There will be food, music, and lots of fabulous activities. It will be open to one and all so mark your calendars now!

All the Best,

Elisabeth Searles
WKC Board President
